  23. To get started:
  24.  
  25.   1.  Floppy disk installation.  Make a backup copy of this disk, to use
  26.       as your working disk.  If you have two drives the same size, type:
  27.            DISKCOPY A: B:   [Enter]
  28.       otherwise, type:
  29.            DISKCOPY A: A:   [Enter]
  30.       If you have problems, see User Manual section 2.1.

  32.   2.  Hard disk installation.  Insert KNITWARE disk in floppy drive A, type:
  33.             A:  [Enter]        then    KWSINSTL A C    [Enter]  
  34.       where C is your hard drive. Change A or C as required, if you are
  35.       using different drives.  If you have problems, see User Manual 2.2.

  37.   3.  Try out the program.  For floppy disk installations, put your working
  38.       disk in drive A:, type:
  39.             A:    [Enter]      then    KWS  [Enter]
  40.        To run from hard disk, type:
  41.             CD \KNIT  [Enter]   then   KWS  [Enter]
  42.  
  43.   4.  Print the user manual (it is 42 pages long). Insert the disk in drive
  44.       A:, turn the printer on, and type
  45.           PRINT A:KWSUSER.DOC    -or-   TYPE A:KWSUSER.DOC PRN   [Enter]
  46.       If the screen displays  NAME OF LIST DEVICE (PRN):  press [Enter] again.

  48.       If your printer prints at 8 lines per inch (the document paging is too
  49.       soon), stop the printer and type PRINT /T  [Enter] to cancel the print
  50.       job.  When the printing has stopped, turn on the printer, type
  51.               MODE LPT1:80,6        [Enter]  to set to 6 lines per inch, and
  52.               PRINT A:KWSUSER.DOC   [Enter]  again.

  54.   5.  READ THE MANUAL!!!  There's lots of good stuff in there, and it will
  55.       help you to make full use of the program's many features.
